Introduction
A frightening future is the backdrop to Ray Bradbury's classic novel, Fahrenheit 451, a future in which books are outlawed and fireman start fires. Bradbury's prophetic look into the future seems eerily true today. Through his protagonist Guy Montag, Bradbury explores conflicts and themes such as society vs. individual, dependence on technology, censorship, and knowledge vs. ignorance.
