Assignments - Week of October 31 - November 4
Monday October 31
Today we started discussing Patrick Henry's famous "Speech to the Virginia Convention." We also turned in our SOAPSTone assignment from over the weekend. We began class with a discussion of our concept of "The American Dream." We also identified logical and emotional appeals, which we will continute to discuss tomorrow. If our discussion today intrigued you and you would like more information about the Revolutionary War, click on the links below.
http://www.ushistory.org/declaration/revwartimeline.htm - not only is this a timeline, but famous documents from the time period are hyperlinked!
http://www.historycentral.com/Revolt/ - a decent overview of the causes of the war, biographies of major players, and primary source documents.
http://kynghistory.ky.gov/history/1qtr/revolutionary.htm - pretty cool site about Kentucky's part in the Revolutionary War.
